In this edition of Where Are They Now?, we are going to take a look at Season 18 contestant on America's Next Top Model Candace M. Smith. Even though Tyra Banks didn't keep her around as long as some fans would have hoped, Candace has gone on to make a career for herself in the modeling world and it doesn't stop there!
Cycle 18 of ANTM had a big twist, as it featured seven British models who had competed in previous cycles of Britain's Next Top Model. They competed against seven all-new American models, which included Candace. While it was her first time on the show, it wasn't her first time auditioning for the show. You should never give up, as Smith auditioned for America's Next Top Model eight times before finally making it! After all those auditions, she ended up being the fourth model eliminated that season.
She took it in stride, as Candace knew what she wanted to do with her life and she was going to live out her dreams. And that is what she has been doing since being a contestant on ANTM. Besides being the face of Motions Hair, she has also been featured in Essence magazine many times. That's on top of campaigns she has done for Lancôme, MAC Cosmetics, BUXOM Cosmetics, L'Oréal and Milk Makeup.
As much as she loves her modeling career, Candace has also found herself behind the camera in television and movie studios! For the small screen, Smith had roles in Season 1 of The Breaks on VH1 and Season 4, Episode 5 of Power on STARZ. She also appeared in She's Gotta Have It on Netflix. This show was created by Spike Lee and Candace appeared in Episode 1 of Season 2.
While Candace has had many appearances over the years, these are just some of the highlights and those highlights include appearances on the big screen also. She has appeared in the 2018 movie Vox Lux and the 2018 movie Second Act. It's a new year and new movie role for Candace, as she appeared in the 2019 movie Motherless Brooklyn.
Candace has many new and big projects in the works, so you won't want to miss any of them! Stay up-to-date on everything Candace by visiting her website or following her on Instagram and Twitter and use the hashtag of #candacesmith or #candacemsmith!
