Zendaya has once again proved herself a style star to watch after being named an ambassador for beauty brand Lancome.
The new deal comes hot on the heels of the news that The Amazing Spider-Man star has teamed up with Tommy Hilfiger on a capsule collection, launching next week (beg25Feb19).
Of her latest professional collaboration, Zendaya told Women's Wear Daily that it's reflective of her maturity, and welcomes in a "new phase" of her life.
“I guess you could say I’m growing up and I feel like I’m coming into my adulthood and shifting into a new phase in my career and in my life,” she smiled. “It felt like that next step, that next elevated step."
Zendaya has never made a secret of her love of make-up, and frequently shares tips with her followers on social media. She also often does her own make-up for big red carpet events, and added she finds the process of putting on her face "therapeutic".
“Obviously, I love make-up. I love that world,” she gushed. “Some people who are in my profession, they don’t love it, but I really enjoy it because I always found make-up to be very therapeutic. I sometimes do my own make-up just before events just to calm down and chill. It’s kind of just my me time... I really enjoy it more as an art form. I’ve used (Lancome’s) products for so long and it’s always been one of those staple brands of class and elegance, so it just felt like the right step."
The former Disney Channel star follows in the footsteps of famous faces such as Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz and Lupita Nyong’o. And Lancome international president Francoise Lehmann promised their work with Zendaya won't be short-lived.
“She’s bringing charisma. She’s very influential and she has a youthful vision of beauty,” Francoise explained. “It will perfectly complement because we already have ambassadresses that are young: Lily Collins and Taylor Hill."
